With the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC2025) coming to Sydney in September 2025, this event will help Victorian organisations prepare, connect, and maximise their participation in one of the world’s most prestigious global space forums.
Event Overview: To inform the Victorian defence and space sector SMEs and academia on opportunities to maximise their participation at IAC 2025. Organised by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), IAC is the preeminent global space event. Last held in Australia in 2017, IAC 2025 is forecast to attract up to 10,000 attendees from 80 plus countries and provides unparalleled global reach into the space sector.

Event Highlights:
The event will be hosted by Anntonette Dailey Director, SIAA a respected lead within the sector.
The lead speaker will be Lisa Vitaris Director, IAC 2025. Her presentation will provide:
- A strategic overview of the event
- A detailed program outline.
- Information on attendees and confirmed delegations.
- Potential opportunities for participants at IAC 2025.
We are also pleased to have Craig Butler, Industry Defence Manager from the Defence Science Institute (DSI), as our guest speaker. He will discuss opportunities for Victorian participation in IAC 2025.
Panel Discussion Featuring:
- Lt Gen, USAF (Ret) Larry James, Strategic Advisor, SmartSat Cooperative Research
- Luke Phillips, Director, International Partnerships at the Australian Space Agency
- Tamara Bell, Global Engagement Manager - Technology, Defence and Space, Australian Trade and Investment Commision (Austrade)
The panel will explore the strategic benefits of participating in IAC 2025, share insights on opportunities and provide practical advice on how SMEs and academia can engage effectively.
