About Us
Winner of the Startup of the Year Award at the recent AusSpace24 Australian Space Awards, Lunar Outpost Oceania is a leader in space and terrestrial robotics, pioneering cutting-edge technologies in autonomous robotic systems that survive extreme environments in space and on Earth.
As technical lead and overall co-lead of the ELO₂ Consortium, awarded funding under the Australian Space Agency’s Moon to Mars Trailblazer Program to design and build Australia’s first lunar rover, Lunar Outpost Oceania is bringing its advanced technologies in autonomous robotic system swarms, that are built, operated and maintained on-shore in Australia, to the defence industry.
Developing technologies that meet the demands of the Trailblazer lunar rover mission, whilst aligning with the needs of the terrestrial defence and resources sectors, Lunar Outpost Oceania is leveraging technologies developed for space on its proprietary autonomous robotic platform, 'Wombat'.
Built to operate and survive in remote, harsh and challenging environments on Earth, Wombat's base platform is low-cost, robust, reliable, and easy to maintain in the field. Its modular design supports multiple applications to re-use and re-task the platform by swapping out attachments and sensors.
